Sign Outside Campus Rabbi's Office Desecrated (06/09/23)

Review Completed

What Happened

A sign outside of the office belonging to a Stanford Rabbi was targeted. Specifically, an 8.5 x 11 sized paper that designated the Jewish information table was defaced. The Star of David printed on the sign was ripped, torn in multiple places, and left in front of the office door.

This incident is being investigated as a hate crime under CA Penal Code section 11411(d). Vandalizing property, particularly as a means to intend to threaten and intimidate is contrary to Stanford’s values. This antisemetic incident is absolutely unacceptable. At this time the offending party(ies) is/are unknown.
